KVM College of Paramedical Science
Biochemistry is the study of chemical processes within and relating to living organisms. These biochemical processes give rise to the complexity of life. As a sub-discipline of both biology and chemistry, biochemistry can be divided into three major fields: molecular genetics, protein science, and metabolism. The Department of Biochemistry is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and diploma students while also maintaining high standards in diagnostic services.
The department offers a curriculum that balances theoretical learning with hands-on training in experimental methods. Students are introduced to essential topics such as laboratory safety and management, the metabolism of biomolecules, and detailed studies of enzymes, hormones, and minerals. The curriculum also covers various functional tests, automation, and quality control, ensuring students gain both foundational knowledge and practical skills in biochemistry.
